Big Girl

We did it, we finally took Grace to get her ears pierced! She's been asking for a while now, and I had always said she could get them done once she asked for it.

Grace picking out her earrings!
Emma and Carter watching.
Getting the markings done.
The piercing!
She was so brave and only cried for a few seconds after.
Showing off her pretty earrings!
Enjoying some ice cream to celebrate!
After playing at the arcade for a little while we let Grace pick out some earrings for when she can change them out. Since it will be Christmas time Grace picked out some Christmas tree earrings (and some animal earrings, and cupcake earrings, but I couldn't say no, she was just too excited!)

Grace did cry a little tonight when I cleaned them, but she recovered quickly when given her vampire teeth!

First Haircut

We finally took Grace for her first haircut! What can I say, her hair grows really slow! She did such a great job!
 Before the cut
 After the cut
She's such a big girl! Now she keeps asking about getting her ears pierced! I finally caved and told her I'd take her this weekend!

Kisses & Dentist

I have no new pictures to share, but both Carter and Emma have learned a new trick! They both have learned to give kisses, you know those big, wet, open mouth kisses! They are the best! They will now give them when asked and they will now give them on their own, without asking. I just love it! Carter will grab your face with his little hands and pull your face to his and just a plant a big one on you. But Emma just comes right at you with her mouth open to plants it on you.

In other completely unrelated news Grace had her first dentist appointment yesterday and she did awesome! They have a little play area their which she refers to as the dentist playground. She went and played first. Cole took her back and said she sat in the chair all by herself and let them clean her teeth, and count them, and do a fluoride treatment without a fight! She did a great job and got a new toothbrush and floss which she couldn't be happier about them!

Tripoding

I was cleaning out the basement the other day and came across some of Grace's old toys I figured the babies might like. I brought out Grace's old singing mirror and both babies were very entertained by it, so much so, that they were willing to share it!
Carter was able to sit in a tripod position for a good ten minutes while playing with the toy!

More Playgrounds

Last weekend we took Grace to another playground. It seems like that's what we do whenever we're bored, but hey, Grace loves it, it's free, and we can enjoy the sun!

I don't quite know what this thing was but you could kind of bounce on it...Grace liked it
Slides are always a big hit, but I'm always terrified she's going to go over the side of them and fall...paranoid Mommy here! (As a side note Grace has been calling me Mommy instead of Mama, oh man, Mommy just melts my heart ten times more!)
I decided to put the babies in a swing for the first time and they seemed to like it. It was a little chilly out so I only let them stay in the swing for a minute before bundling them back up in the carseat.

Bums, Bananas, & Tripods

Sort of just a randomness of things....Emma loves to lay on her belly with her bum in the air, it's so stinkin' cute!
Carter can sit in the tripod position for a few seconds at a time unassisted.
Both babies are teething like crazy after fussiness all day I remembered about the mesh feeder last night. I gave it to Carter, who seems to be having a harder time with the teeth and he went nuts for it. First I put an ice cube in it and after he finished that I put in a banana. Carter was so excited about the banana and it was the only thing that kept him calm for a good 15 minutes while he chomped away on the thing.
With their morning cereal/vegetable I've been giving the babies a sippy cup of water. Well they now know what a sippy cup is when they see one, so when Carter saw me get his sippy cup out of the fridge this morning and put it down he started screaming until I finally let him have it. And while Grace was sitting next to Emma later on she was drinking her own sippy cup when Emma started reaching for Gracie's cup and crying so I had to go get Emma her own cup. It's crazy how fast they pick up on these things.

And because I'm kind of crazy I put the kids in some crazy outfits today just so they could wear their cute babylegs.

"Um, Mom this bow is the size of my head!"

Taking A Walk

Well I did it..I put Grace and Emma in our jogging stroller and put Carter in our Baby K'tan and went for a walk with all the kids. Holy crap did my legs burn after the walk, especially because 2 out of 3 of the tires were flat making it extra hard!

It was a little chilly so I bundled the kids. Grace was very excited to share a stroller with Emma. Usually when I go out in public alone with all 3 kids I have Emma and Carter in the double snap-n-go and have Grace hold onto the side of the stroll, so this was her first time sharing a stroller with one of the babies.
Carter just kind of took it all in! We live on a busy street so there was lots of loud trucks to keep him entertained.
Emma enjoyed the walk and actually fell asleep towards the end.
I was able to transfer Emma from the stroller into the house into the pack n play without waking her. Grace and Carter were awake when we got home but both came in and took a nap right away! I hope to be taking lots of walks in the future, the kids seem to enjoy it and it was quite the work out. Uncle Josh was kind enough to put air in our flat tires so it should be a little easier next time..thanks Uncle Josh!

Wiggle Worms

Carter and Emma have become little wiggle worms lately and I put them on the blanket like this...
and then I turn around and find them like this...
How they are able to wiggle around that fast is beyond me. As a side note both Emma & Carter rolled from their bellies to their backs yesterday not even an hours apart, for the record Carter did do it first!

Slacker

Sorry for the lack of blogging. Our house was hit with that awful stomach big that has been going around and then we all went right from the stomach bug into a cold...yuck!

Last Saturday night we went to the Holiday Stroll in Rockland. Apparently I only snapped 1 picture. Grace all bundled.
As soon as we walked in the door from the stroll, Grace started puking. 20 minutes later I started puking. Cole was upstairs putting Grace to bed and I was downstairs with the babies.  I was holding both babies and suddenly needed to puke. I was able to grab the bucket and just missed puking on the babies, yikes! I had to yell up for Cole to come help. Fortunately, Cole never got the vomiting part of the bug, but did get the fever and other stomach issues, so he took over with the babies for the night, while I spent the night puking my brains out. Poor Grace was such a trooper about being sick, she just kept saying her belly hurt and just kept rubbing her belly saying "dairy." Poor thing thought she had dairy and that's why she was sick. She did love the fact that she got to drink gingerale because she was sick though.

While we were all laid up with the stomach bug, both Emma and Carter started smiling. It's very hard to capture there smiles on camera. These are the best I could get;

Carter
Emma
In true bad mommy fashion I managed to give both Emma and Carter their first boo-boos one the same day. I was trying to cut their finger nails and managed to get both of their skin. Hey, at least they can't claim I played favorites, seeing as I made both them bleed within 2 minutes of one another.
