11 months

I am so late with this post, seeing as they turn 1 in a week, yikes! Sadly this is the best picture of them together I could get.
Emma and Carter are now both over 20 pounds, not bad for our little babies! They are wearing 12 mopnth clothes and wearing a size 4 diaper. They both eat only finger foods and we've started transitioning to milk this week.

They both will gove each other kisses now and it just melts my heart!
Carter is tsil such a Mama's boy and I love it! He now loves to snuggle!
Carter is our sensitive baby, he gets his feeling hurt very easily, and giving him a stern warning sends him into hysterics. He loves to climb on everything. He loves balls and he loves the little playhouse we have, he actually just loves crawling through the door and closing the door in Emma's face.

Emma likes to snuggle, but only if Carter is snuggling or if you are giving her attention for getting hurt.
Emma is so in love with Lily and follows her around all day.

Emma is the pushy one and is allows taking things from Carter and pushing him down, she has turned into quite the bully, which doesn'y work out so good for poor Mr. Sensitive. Emma recently has started walking!

Both babies say Mama, and Dada. They both say things that sounds like Emma, Grace, Lily, and up. We are getting ready to have a Thing 1 Thing 2 birthday party for them. I tried to get a cute picture of the two of them for the invites, tried is the key word.

And typical Carter, Emma stole his binkie.

10 Months

Emma and Carter are now 10 months old, which means only 2 months until they are one! Time really needs to slow down, big time! As sad as I am about how fast they are growing up, I just love this age! They are learning new things every day and are so fun to be around. Trying to get their picture together proved to be pretty impossible.
I bribed them with a spoon and a book, but could not get them to look at the camera, at least they were sitting still!
After 2 pictures, Carter was done and tried to escape! Cole saved him from falling over!
Emma and Carter are both wearing 9 month clothes, a few 9-12 months, but mostly just 9 months. They are still in size 3 diapers, but I think we'll be moving up to size 4 soon. Emma has 2 bottom teeth and Carter has 7! They are both sleeping in the same room together and are sleeping through the night! They love table food and usually eat whatever we are eating. They both will push toys around the house, Emma will let go and try to take steps, but Carter is content holding on. Emma is such a Daddy's girl, but Carter is a Mama's boy! Both babies will say Mama and Dada. Emma will attempt to say Lily, Up, and Grace, if prompted.
Carter is such a ticklish baby, but Emma isn't ticklish at all. Carter is cool with playing by himself, while Emma and Grace are almost always playing together. Emma and Grace play, well, like sisters. They laugh a lot and they piss each other off a lot!

In only 2 short months I'll have two 1 year olds, yikes!

8 Months

Man, I'm so late on this post, but every time I go to write it type it I get distracted! I can't believe how much faster time is flying by this time around, in only 4 short months Emma and Carter will be ONE! They are officially not babies anymore :tears: Both babies are feeding themselves finger food, crawling, and starting to pull up on things! They both babble like crazy and say Mama, Dada, yay, and bang bang.
Now that they are crawling they get themselves into everything!
They both love these drumsticks that Grace has and fight over them ALL the time!

Both Emma and Carter are staring to notice Lily and try to pull her ears, tail, etc. Emma will try to say Lily and Grace when you prompt her, but it doesn't come out sounding anything like Lily or Grace. Carter has been trying to say Emma, but it comes out like Mama. Carter still shows more interest in Emma then Emma does in him, but Emma is a little less snobby to him now!

Carter's 3rd tooth is starting to poke through, Emma still doesn't have any. Both babies are wearing size 3 diapers and size 6-9 month clothes. Carter and Carter are now drinking close to 32 oz of formula a day, plus eating 3 finger foods/puree meals a day.

Carter is still Mr. Personality and loves attention! Emma is becoming less of a snob, but is still more standoffish then Carter. Both babies will now fuss and cry if I pick the other one up, fun times! They both do lift their arms up to be picked up, which I love! They both clap and say yay, while doing it.

Emma's feet never stop moving, I think she'll be our dancer! If she's sitting eating she'll swing her legs, if she's on her belly she'll tap her foot on the floor. Sometimes even in her sleep you can hear her tapping her leg.

7 Months

Only a few days late, but Carter and Emma are now 7 months old! That means we are closer to their 1st birthday then we are to their birth, which just seems so crazy to me!

Emma and Carter have really seemed to notice one another and interact, it's so cute!
For the most part they really seem to like one another's company, unless it involves the other scratching their face or stealing their toys, then they scream pretty loud!
Carter is such a ham!
He just loves people and is always all smiles! Carter is now sleeping by himself in his crib for naps and bedtime. He is only waking 1, sometimes, 2 times a night and usually just needs his binkie. Carter now says Mama and Da. When he's sad or mad he just cried Mama, over and over again until I get him. Carter still loves his bottle and prefers it over baby food, he'll eat maybe one serving of baby food a day, if that. I just started putting away both Carter's and Emma's 3-6 month clothes and taking out their 6-9 month clothes. Most of the 6-9 month clothes still are huge, but they can wear them. Carter can roll himself both ways and will sit unassisted for a few second at a time. Carter has managed to get himself up on all fours a couple times, but no crawling yet. Carter has become a happy yeller and yells as high pitch as he can when excited. Carter's bottom tooth has finally poked through, but it hasn't come all the way out yet.
Emma is still pretty snobby and standoffish with other people. She has awful stranger anxiety, which our doctor says is really earlier, so hopeful it gets better and not worse over time. Emma is a great sleeper for the most parts and usually sleeps through the night. Emma can say Mama and Dada as well, but doesn't use them as often as Carter. A few times Emma has said baba when she wanted a bottle. Emma prefers baby food and table over her bottles and now has a nutty when other people are eating around her. I have to force Emma to drink her bottles during the day. Emma rolls both ways as well, but hates trying to sit unassisted, she will usually just throw herself back. Emma knows how to wiggle back and forth to move herself across the room to Grace's toys and is so proud of herself once she gets them. When Emma wakes up in the morning she often is such a goof ball, but otherwise she's pretty serious.

Both Carter and Emma were discharged from Early Intervention today because they no longer qualify. This is great news because it means they are meeting all their milestones and have nothing to be concerned with at the time, yet I'm so nervous they will suddenly fall behind.

Neither Carter or Emma were really into their monthly pictures this month:

6/7 Month Stats

Emma and Carter just had their 6 month check-up, but since they will be 7 months on Friday, their stats are more 7 month stats instead of 6 months.

Carter:
Weight: 18lbs
Height: 27.5 inches
Head: 45.5 cm

Carter is now in the 50th%, when he was only in the 10th% at 4 months! Carter now weighs more then Emma and is taller, yet his percentile is lower.

Emma:
Weight: 17lbs 10 oz
Height: 27 inches
Head: 44 cm

Emma is now in the 70th%!

and just for comparison Grace's stats at 6 months:
Grace:
Weight: 20 lbs 13 oz
Height: 27 inches
Head: 44 cm
Grace and Emma have the same head circumference and height at 6 months, but Grace had a good 3 pounds on Emma! In fact at 4 months Grace weighed 17 lbs 11.5 oz, which is more then Emma weighs now at almost 7 months!

Half Birthday

I can't believe it, but Miss Emma & Carter had their half birth the other day! How has half a year already passed?!

First up is Miss Baby A, Emma.
Facts about Emma at 6 months:
- She is still Miss Serious, except in the morning! When she wakes up in the morning she is super silly. Emma will growl like a little dinosaur when she wakes up, it cracks us all up!
- Emma does awesome eating solids! So far her and Carter have tried oatmeal, yogurt, sweet potatoes, apples, bananas, avocados, carrots, peas, and a few cheerios. Emma does pretty well with the more textured food.
- Emma is wearing mostly 3-6 month clothes and wears size 3 diapers-Emma has rolled from front to back and will spin herself around in the exersaucer to play with all the toys. She will jump a little in the jumpy horse, but hasn't really mastered it yet.
-Emma loves Grace and still gives her the biggest smiles and laughs, in fact, Grace says they are best friends!
- Emma can sit in a tripod position for a few seconds before falling over.
-Emma has started to make an M sound, and a Ba sound, but no real words yet. She has said Mama on one occasiion, but I don't think she meant to.
- Emma has the worst attitude face and flashes it often!
-Emma has recently started noticng her feet and plays with them often, but she still finds her hands so fasinating!
-Emma is a great sleeper and goes to bed at 6pm and sleeps until 6am, usually with onkly waking 1 or 2 times!

Now Baby boy B!
Mr. Carter!
-Carter is all smiles most of the time. He is such a happy baby and just loves everyone! But when tired or hungry Carter is a screamer, not just normal screaming, but blood boiling screaming!
- Carter is getting better eating solids, but still needs his food super thin. He has eaten a few cheerios and done fine with them, but never seems to get as excited about food as Emma does. His bottle is a whole different story. This kid loves the bottle and often drinks 8 oz every 3 hours or so.
- Carter like Emma is wearing mostly 3-6 months clothes and size 3 diapers. He can still fit in some of his 0-3 month clothes, except for the hats, his head is enormous!
-Carter has rolled from front to back and back to front. He loves the exersaucer and is a great jumper!
-Carter loves both his sister and will laugh and "talk" to them all day long!
-Carter can hold the tripod position a little longer then Emma can.
-We are pretty positive that Carter says hi. He has the Da sound and is starting to work on the M sound, but no real official Mama or Dada yet.
-Carter also has started noticing his feet and playing with them.
-Carter goes to bed at 6pm as well but usually wakes 3-4 times a night.

Now for the monthly photos:

5 Months

I can't believe that Carter and Emma are already 5 months old! I guess time really does go by even faster the second time around!

Carter and Emma have such different personalities. Carter is such a funny guy, he loves to laugh and is so easy to get a smile out of. Carter is also such a flirt and always cocks his head and looks away briefly whenever he smiles, it just melts my heart! On the flip side when Carter is tired or hungry he will let you know as loudly as possible! He can also be quite stubborn and even if he's exhausted will fight sleep and scream and scream before finally giving in. Carter still wants nothing to do with cereal or some of the homemade baby food I've made. I don't really push it and will often give him a little spoonful while I feed Emma, but he often just pushes it away or spits it out. Carter is now taking 4-6 oz every 2-3 hours, but will go longer stretches at night. Carter is still such a Mommy's boy and I love it! His eyes always light up when he sees me!

Emma on the other hand is more serious. She takes in everything around her and will laugh and smile but makes you work a lot harder for it. Once you get Emma laughing she usually will break out the best belly laugh! Emma has the worst case of stranger anxiety and cries every time someone stops to talk to her! Emma unlike Carter loves to eat and every morning she eats a serving of veggies, then some oatmeal, and then after that she usually wants a bottle as well! Emma only takes 4oz every 2-3 hours, but will usually sleep through the night. Emma usually just needs to be swaddled and given her binkie and then she'll go to sleep, which is fantastic since it takes 1.5-2.5 hours to get Carter to sleep!

Both babies are finally starting to become aware of one another and will stare at and "talk" to one another. They are both reaching for toys and will roll from side to side but neither of them as rolled over yet. They both get a kick out of Grace and even laugh when she is being to rough with them!

They are growing so fast!

Why must they grow so fast?

4 Month Stats

Emma and Carter went for their 4 month check-up today.

Carter's Stats:
height: 25 inches
weight: 13 lbs 14.5 oz.
head circumference: 42.5 cm

(If you click on the charts the will open up bigger)
Carter's growth isn't as fast as Emma's, but they aren't concerned. Carter is only in the 10th% for weight...little peanut!

But if you account for Carter's adjusted age, then that puts him in the 50th%.
Emma's Stats:

height: 25 inches
weight: 14 lbs 2 oz.
head circumference: 40 cm

Emma now weighs MORE then Carter! Emma started off in the 3rd% for weight at birth and is now all most in the 60th% for weight and that's not even with her adjusted age!

With her adjusted age Emma is in the 80-85th%!

Grace at 4 months was huge and was in the 99th%..yikes!

And just because what's a post without some pictures

4 months

How did that happen already? I can't believe Emma and Carter turned 4 months old yesterday! They are so funny and have quite different personalities.

Emma is more stone face, will smirk here and there, is talkative (but not nearly as loud or as vocal as Carter), is content hanging by herself. Emma likes to take little cat naps during the day, but most nights goes to bed @730 and sleeps until 8am, maybe waking for 1 bottle if any. Emma is still smaller then Carter and still fits into most of her newborn clothes, but is slowly starting to fit into her 0-3 month clothes. Both babies are now wearing size 2 diapers. Emma loves to eat her hands and is still a huge puke machine! (we go to the GI specialist this Thursday!) Emma carries most of her weight in her chubby cheeks, while Carter packs his in his belly! Emma's favorite activity is to stare at her hands. She is often found like this:
it cracks me up!

Carter on the other hand is such a funny boy, he loves to laugh, and boy does he love to hear himself talk!! He likes to "talk" as loud as possible! If he is awake and not hungry he will just laugh and talk the whole time. It does not matter what you say or do, he thinks it's funny! However if Carter is hungry or tired look out...he is a screamer! Carter does sleep okay at night, he usually wakes a few more times then Emma does, but he's still not even a bad sleeper. Carter likes to take long naps during the day, unlike Emma. Carter is also a puke machine, but not nearly as bad as Emma. Carter has outgrown almost all of his newborn clothes and mainly wears 0-3 month clothes.

Emma is okay putting herself to sleep, but Carter on the other hand needs to either be feed to sleep or be rocked to sleep. If he is rocked to sleep I play the game....rock until he falls asleep, put him down, he wakes up, I re-rock him, put him down....and so forth, it usually takes a few times around the cycle for it to work.

I was trying to take their 4 month pictures today and Emma kept looking off, like this:
What was she staring at.....
Grace and her naked baby of course!

I can't believe how much they have grown in the past 4 months!
