Silly Girl

Auntie and Uncle Josh bought Carter this awesome race track for his birthday. It is a huge hit in our house! Carter loves to throw random toys in the middle to watch them spin. Emma likes to do this:

Emma thinks this is the greatest seat ever. Emma also likes to try to stand on it when it's spinning, she's quite the little dare devil!

New Toys

Grace got lots of great new toys for Christmas but she seems to really be favoring a few right now. She really loves the Melissa & Doug Castle and princess set my sister and Josh got her.
She also really loves this Melissa & Doug cookie set. If I'm being honest I love it as well!
The set comes with 12 wooden cookies that all fit in the cookie tube, and since the cookies have velcro on them they all stick together so you can cut them apart using the wooden knife. Then you can place them on the wooden baking sheet which also has velcro on it. When the cookies are done you can use the wooden spatula to lift the cookies off the velcro. The set also comes with 12 velcro frosting. I love this set so much!
I just love watching Grace play pretend!

Dora

Grace has never been into the t.v. or movies, but I recently found out that Dora has a twin brother and sister. I searched for an episode that had the twins in it recorded it for Grace. Well, now she loves Dora!
The only problem is that Grace hates the map on Dora. She yells "No. No. Dora!' whenever the map appears. I try to reassure her that Dora will be back in a minute. Why she hates the map so much is beyond me!

Grace only likes the episodes that the babies are in, which unfortunately I've only found 2 that feature these guys:
So Grace forces me to watch the same 2 episoides of Dora over and over again. Day after day...oh my!
Well searching for images for this post I found out the sell a Dora doll that comes with the babies, it's called Big Sister Dora

I may just have to try to track down this doll for our Dora baby obsessed girl!

Multitasking Mama

Gracie, not me! Grace was struggling trying to hold her baby while doing other things around the house (like playing in her house, climbing on furniture...you know all that stuff that mischievous 14 month olds do!) I decided to help her out and using her blankie made a front carrier for her baby! Grace loved it and everytime it fell off, she would bring it back to me to put back on. I guess she's a babywearing Mama, just like me!

This is making me think that we should try to find a doll front carrier for her for Christmas...hmm...do they even make those???

Reading

When Grace was a little baby see enjoyed books. She liked looking at them and she liked us reading them.

Baby Grace reading a book.
Well, for the past few months Grace wanted nothing to do with us reading books. She just wanted to eat them and would scream and yell if we tried reading them. Well, she finally likes to read books again and I'm so excited!

Grace reading her Touch and Feel Animal book.
"Oh a puppy!"
Grace also likes to touch all the animals in the book.
The bunny is still her favorite!
Don't get me wrong Grace still loves to chew books
but now she will also let us read them, she'll look through them, and she'll touch all the animals.

Yay for books!

Not Amused

We bought Grace a new toy for Christmas, but of course I didn't want to wait to give it to her, so I took it out for her to play with the other night, I do not think she was amused!

I'm In Love

Yes, I'm in love, with what you may ask...well they're flash cards! Yes, flash cards, but not just any old flash cards wonderful Touch and Feel flash cards. Cole's Dad's client gave them to Cole yesterday and Grace and I have so much fun playing with them.

They come in this sturdy box
They have all sorts of animals that you can touch

and they are large, which is great for little hands

and they have the pronunciation of the animal in different languages. Grace especially likes when I try to say the animals in Spanish.

Now, if only they told me what sound each animal makes. Looking through these flash cards I realized I have no clue what or how to make most animal sounds!
So, the moral of this post is BUY THESE CARDS!

and just an added picture of Grace wearing her new skates today!
