MOTY

Yup, I get the Mother of the Year Award. Tonight while playing with blocks on the floor with Grace I fell asleep. Oops...I have no idea how it happened, I was playing one minute, then sleeping the next. Luckily it was only for 5 minutes and Grace just kept playing blocks with me, even though I was asleep. Guess I've hit the exhaustion phase of pregnancy. I just can't seem to get enough sleep to feel rested. I was a zombie last night and Cole let me go back to bed after he got home from his interview this morning (where he scored a new hockey job for the fall...yay!) Yet I still feel like I need to stick toothpicks in my eyes to keep them open. Unfortunately Cole has to work late, so I really need to pull myself together and stay awake for Garce until he's home. I'm trying to talk Grace into taking an evening nap, but she's not falling for it.

In other news, I've started planning Grace's 2nd birthday (tears!) How is our little baby almost 2?! I've decided to go with a pink & green theme this year. I'm trying to go really simple this year, well because I'll be 30 weeks pregnant at her party and pretty limited to what I can do on my feet. My Mother-In-Law has agreed to let us use her house, which is a huge help, seeing as we have unsorted baby things EVERYWHERE! Our house is a diaster and I'm very slowly trying to go through everything.

I'm so behind on getting everything together for the twins. So far I have managed to wash and hang up Grace's old newborn and 0-3 month clothes, I've bought a couple things for Carter, washed the carseats, and we moved the crib to our bedroom, but that's it. I still have to re-raise the crib, put new bedding in it, and oh yeah get another crib! We have so much to do, but I just have no energy to do it. I keep putting it off, thinking I have all the time in the world, but in 2 weeks I'll be in the 3rd trimester. When I was pregnant with Grace I was put on bedrest at 30 weeks, which is only 4 weeks away this pregnany. Hopefully I won't be on bedrest this pregnancy, but that would certain make it pretty impossible to finish what needs to get done. Yikes!

25/26 Weeks

Ok, so I missed 25 weeks & tomorrow is 26 weeks, so I figured I'd post a little early.

How Far Along? 25 weeks 6 days

Maternity Clothes? Yes, in desperate need of new ones!

Weight Gain? I've now gained 20 pounds..yikes!

Stretch Marks? Yes sir!

Sleep? I've had a really hard time sleeping lately. One of the babies is on my sciatic nerve which causes my right hip and leg to go numb, which is really uncomfortable. I also have been getting really bad restless leg syndrome at nights, which makes me crazy!

Best Moment of the Week? We had another ultrasound today. Both babies look good! Emma has passed Carter and is now the bigger baby, but not by much! Emma is 2 lbs 1 oz and Carter is 2lbs. We will go back in a month for another ultrasound, where I'll be almost 30 weeks, which seems crazy!

Genders? A boy and a girl...Coleman Carter and Emily Katherine

Belly Button In or Out? In but getting shallow.

Cravings? I've been craving lots of sweets, which make me SO nauseous, but sometimes I eat them anyways.

What I Miss? Feeling my right leg! I just really miss getting a good night sleep, but I know it will be a VERY long time until that happens. That's okay though, I know these babies will be very worth it.

What I Love? I love how active the babies have been lately, it's a nice reassurance.

What I Am Looking Forward to This Week? There are only 99 days left until 40 weeks, which means there is even less then that until the babies come. I figure the babies will be here some where between 37-38 weeks, which means we only have 11-12 weeks left...wow!

Milestones? We are almost into the 3rd trimester! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is flying by!

Feeling the Babies Move? Yup and I love it!

Other Thoughts? I'm just so happy and thankful to have made it this far.

Sleepy Girl

Grace's new thing is that when she's tired she rubs the silky part of her blankie on her ear. We have no idea why she does it, but it's so cute!

Boo!

"I see you!"

Dairy Reaction

Last week, Miss Grace unfortunately ate some meat that apparently had some dairy in it. We got her a burrito at Moe's with ground beef thinking it was dairy free, but it was not. Poor Grace started with her awful dairy poops the next day. Her diaper rash cleared after a few days with the help of some diaper cream. The rash on her belly on the other hand took almost a week to clear. We have no idea why. Were hoping to get her in to see an allergist soon.

This is the best picture of her rash I could get.

Braxton Hicks

The past few weeks I've been having braxton hick contractions off and on, which is normal. But last night was by far the worst they've been. They actually were pretty painful, luckily after an hour they stopped. I just think that spending 3 days in a row at the pool, in the sun was to much for me. I think I was probably just really dehyrated, which can bring on contractions. I had been feeling pretty yucky all day yesterday, so wasn't really surprised when the dehydration brought on some contractions. It's not the pain I worry about, it's more that I worry that the braxton hicks will turn into really contractions, and we do NOT want these babies to come anytime soon. I'll admit I was starting to get really nervous last night once they were getting timeable, but thankful it turned out to be nothing.

Fortunately I happened to have a Dr's appointment scheduled for today. Everything looks good. I gained a few pounds, my bp was 122/72, urine was fine, and we heard both babies heartbeats. I will now start going every 2 weeks to the OB. Next time I go I will have the dreaded glucose test....hopefully I'll pass and have no problems.

23/24 Weeks

What fraternal twins could look like at 24 weeks

So, I've been a very bad blogger lately. I missed the 23 week post, and I'm late on the 24 week post..sorry! I've just been lazy lately. I'm hoping to catch up on some posting today.

How Far Along? 24 weeks 3 days

Maternity Clothes? Yes, I'm slowly running out of shirts that fit.

Weight Gain? I've now gained 20 pounds..yikes!
Stretch Marks? Yes sir!

Sleep? I sleep for 2 hours, then waking up every hour after that to pee. I'm finding that no matter how much sleep I get, I still just feel tired all the time. I guess all my energy is going to growing two babies and trying to keep up with MIss Grace!

Best Moment of the Week? There isn't a moment in particular, but I just love feeling the babies move more and more everyday!

Genders? A boy and a girl...Coleman Carter and Emily Katherine

Belly Button In or Out? In but getting shallow.

Cravings? I've really been craving chocolate lately, which is NOT helping my heartburn!

What I Miss? Energy, but I don't expect that to return any time soon!

What I Love? My family...I feel so lucky and blessed, to have a loving husband, and daughter, and to be expecting 2 more! I'm also very happy to have made it to 24 weeks. 24 weeks is the viability week, not that I want these babies coming any time soon!

What I Am Looking Forward to This Week? Trying to get some things done around the house, we have nothing for the twins and we have lots to do before they arrive. I made the mistake of making a list of all that needs to get done and be bought before the babies arrive, but I stopped once I got past number 50 on the list...yikes!

Milestones? Making it to 24 weeks, assuming I have the twins somewhere between 37 and 38 weeks, that means they will be here in 13 weeks or so!

Feeling the Babies Move? Yup and I love it!

Other Thoughts? I'm just so happy and thankful to have made it this far.

Haven't Met You Yet

For some reason, this song has always reminded me of the twins and our struggles to get pregnant with them. I know this is supposed to be a love song, but to me. It's a song to our babies. "I promise you kid, I'll give so much more then I get...I just haven't met you yet!"

Gymnastics

Grace had her 1st gymnastics class yesterday, and we all had a blast! Cole was the one who decided Grace should take this class, he went and saw the gym, and talked to the owner, so I had no idea what to expect. I just thought it was going to be a toddler play class, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out  it was a beginner gymnastics class. The gym is called Star Dust Gym in East Bridgewater.

The teacher Miss Racheal is fantastic! She had the kids do some stretches, then some running, then they practiced wheel barrels, donkey kicks, hand stands, 2 legged jump, swinging from the bar, jumping into the foam pit...and this was all just in the first class! Grace did a great job and even went to Miss Racheal and let her use her to demonstrate some of the new skills! Grace even was the one who jumped in the foam pit first.

It was so great to see Grace start to open up to others and come out of her shell. We all know she's a crazy, wild woman, but she is so shy around others. Grace has class once a week and on Friday's she can go to open gym if we went, so we'll try to bring her twice a week when possible.

We are trying to get Grace involved with as many activites as possible before the twins come, we don't want her to get lost in the mix. So I'm currently researching and calling Pre Schools, dance classes, and learn to skates. I'm also making appointments for Grace to go to a dentist and an allergist. We're also trying to get Grace into toddler EI group as a community child. We're just trying to get Grace involved in as many things as possible to keep her busy and to try to get her ready for Pre School. In addition to this sometime between now and next fall we need to potty train Grace and get rid of the binkie...oy vey!

Busy Long Weekend

Thursday we went and fed the ducks after the Dr.'s appointment.
Then we went to see the cows.
Friday night we went to the Drive-In. Grace had fun before the movies started, but wanted no part in watching the movies. We ended up having to leave before the 2nd movie.
Saturday, Sunday, and Monday we spent most of the day at Grandma and Papa's pool. Grace doesn't love the pool, but will tolerate it.
Grace trying to give the babies a hug.
Nose!
Cheese!
Sunday we went down to Plymouth to watch the fireworks on the water. Grace enjoyed her Oreos, while the rest of us had cupcakes.
The sunset.
Fireworks

We had a great weekend and got to spend lots of family time together! Hope everyone had a good 4th!

22 Weeks

How Far Along? 22 Weeks

Maternity Clothes? Yes, I'm slowly running out of shirts that fit.

Weight Gain? I gained 6 pounds at my last appointment, so that makes a total of 14 pounds thus far.

Stretch Marks? Yes sir!

Sleep? I sleep for 2 hours, then waking up every hour after that to pee. I'm getting pretty use to this schedule.
Best Moment of the Week? Getting to see the babies yesterday. Just knowing that they are growing and doing well in there is so reassuring.

Genders? A boy and a girl!

Belly Button In or Out? In but getting shallow.

Cravings? I was really craving a cupcake the other day, but I just think that is because I was watching Cupcake Wars on tv.

What I Miss? Having lots of energy. I don't know where the 2nd trimester energy boost is, because I certainly have not had it yet.

What I Love? Feeling my babies move more and more every day.

What I Am Looking Forward to This Week? Just enjoying some time with the family. Cole has the whole weekend off, which is pretty rare. I hoping we can get some pool time in!

Milestones? Making it this far! 2 more weeks until viability! I've set little milestones for myself, which helps make getting to full term not sound so far. My 1st goal is 24 weeks, then 30 weeks, then 34 weeks, then 36, then finally 38!

Feeling the Babies Move? Yup and I love it!

Other Thoughts? I'm just so happy and thankful to have made it this far.

Dr.'s Appointment #2

Today we went to the Peri for an ultrasound. Both babies look good! Emma is on the right side of my belly head down and Carter is now on the left side head up. So they basically are just kicking each other in the head. Both babies heart rates where in the 150's. My cervix looks good and so far there is no tunneling or shortening. A baby at 21 weeks should weigh @ 12-13 oz...Emma was 15 oz today and Carter was 1 lb 4 oz! I guess Carter is pulling to be the bigger twin right now. We're so happy that everyone and everything looks good! Neither twin would cooperate to have their picture taken, they were both hiding their faces. The ultrasound tech tried numerous times with no luck.

I dropped off my 24 hour urine and had my bloodwork done, while there. As long as we don't hear back from the Dr. then that means everything is good. I go back to the OB in 3 weeks and the Peri in 4 weeks!

Yay for big babies so far! Keep up the good work guys!
