U/S Pictures

So here are the u/s pictures from yesterday. They are blurry, I just used Cole's cell to take pictures of the u/s, sorry!

Emma's cute little foot. I'm shocked it looks like she has long thin feet, those are certainly not from me!
Emma's face looking right at us!
Emma's profile, a lot less creepy then the front face picture.
This is Emma's footy on top of Carter's head.

Is it weird that based on their u/s pictures I think they look so different from one another? I also already think they are just so cute!

30 Week Ultrasound

We had our 30 week u/s today and everything looks good! We met our new perinatologist and new techs, they all seem super nice!

Emma is still on the right side, she's head down and very low! Emma is now weighing in at 3lbs 6 oz. Carter is on my left side and has flipped back to breech. Emma is resting her feet on his poor head. Speaking of heads Carter's is measuring almost 33 weeks, yikes! I'm picturing a bobble head (a cute one, though of course!) Carter is weighing 3lbs 11 oz. A singleton baby at 30 weeks should weigh 3lbs 2oz, so we are doing VERY good! That's a total of 7lbs 1 oz, we're only a few oz. away from what Grace weighed at birth (7lbs 8oz), so within a week or so I'll be carrying more baby weight then I ever have before, nuts!

Everything looks good and I don't have another scheduled u/s until 34 weeks, which is great that they are doing that good, but feels like that's a long time away. They had a hard time getting everyone's measurements because they are pretty crammed in there now. The u/s took over an hour, but I was loving getting to see them. We got lots of great pictures, which i'll try to post later.

I have a Dr.'s appointment Wednesday, so hopeful I'm doing as well as the babies are! I'm quite swollen from being on my feet to much this weekend, plus the return of the heat is not helping. Hopeful a few days of rest will do the trick!

Grace's 2nd B-day Party (picture heavy)

We had Grace's 2nd Birthday Party on Sunday, it was great! We had good people and good food, what more could you ask for?! Grace had a blast and loved all the attention (and gifts!) Of course I have lots of pictures to share!:

30 Weeks!!

How Far Along? 30 weeks! Which just feels like such a huge milestone! It's definately down to single digit weeks left! OMG!

Maternity Clothes? I'm growing out of everything, and look like such a bum, but I'm just to tired to care about how I look!

Weight Gain? 22 pounds. I have another Dr's appointment Wednesday, so I'll see how much more I've gained then.

Stretch Marks? Yes, nothing overly crazy I think most of them are from Grace, they are pretty light.

Sleep? Still not sleeping, but I have a feeling that's just how it's going to be until the babies come...and probably for a while after!

Best Moment of the Week? Feeling the babies move.
Genders? A boy and a girl...Coleman Carter and Emily Katherine

Belly Button In or Out? Still in, but very shallow.

Cravings? Nothing crazy lately.

What I Miss? Sleep...I'm so tired, but just can't sleep. I feel like an insomniac, which just makes me crazy! Just being able to get comfortable. I get uncomfortable sitting, standing, & laying down now. It's all completely worth it though!

What I Love? Feeling both babies move at the same time! They keep sticking little body parts out today, it's so stinkin' cute!

What I Am Looking Forward to This Week? Grace's birthday party is Sunday, we have an ultrasound Monday, a Dr's appointment Wendesday, and Grace's gymnastics starts back up this Wednesday! Busy week!!

Milestones? 30 weeks! That means we have 6-9 weeks left!
Feeling the Babies Move? Yup!
Other Thoughts? I'm just so happy and thankful to have made it this far.

29 Weeks

The view at 29 weeks
Grace & I at 29 weeks
How Far Along? 29 weeks

Maternity Clothes? Yes, although the dress I'm wearing in the pictures isn't a maternity dress and is actually a few sizes smaller then what I was before I got pregnant, go figure!
Weight Gain? About 22 pounds now, although I gained nothing in the last 2 weeks.

Stretch Marks? Yes, nothing overly crazy I think most of them are from Grace, they are pretty light.

Sleep? Still not sleeping, but I have a feeling that's just how it's going to be until the babies come...and probably for a while after!

Best Moment of the Week? Having the u/s Wednesday to confirm the babies are okay, they just have no room to move...almost up to 6 pounds total...go babies!
Genders? A boy and a girl...Coleman Carter and Emily Katherine

Belly Button In or Out? Still in, but very shallow.
Cravings? Nothing crazy lately.

What I Miss? Just being able to get comfortable. I get uncomfortable sitting, standing, & laying down now. It's all completely worth it though!

What I Love? Feeling both babies move at the same time!
What I Am Looking Forward to This Week? Grace's birthday party is next Sunday!

Milestones? 1 more week and we hit the 30 week mark!!!
Feeling the Babies Move? Yes, just not as much anymore.

Other Thoughts? I'm just so happy and thankful to have made it this far.

Second Scare

I know 2 scares in 1 week! The good news is that everybody is okay. I had a Dr's appointment yesterday and my bp, urine,  and weight were all good. I mentioned to my OB that the babies really weren't moving a lot the past few days and it was freaking me out. My OB only has a litttle hand-held u/s machine so she checked quickly and could tell they both had heartbeats and were moving around, but she decided to send me to the hospital just to be safe.

We went right from the Dr's to the hospital. They did a Bio Physical Profile on the babies. Both babies look great and passed with flying colors. Emma now weighs 2lbs 12 oz and Carter is 3lbs. That now puts Carter in the lead! They are both measuring ahead, which is great news. The u/s tech even managed to get us a few good pictures of both babies. It crazy, but I like Emma looks so much like Grace!
Emma's profile
Carter's profile, with his little hand up by his face.

After the u/s, the tech called my Dr and she said I could go home. I see her again in 2 weeks and have another u/s in 2 weeks. Hopefully now that we've had 2 little scares in a week, we will have no more for the rest of the pregnancy. I feel so much better knowing that the babies aren't moving as much, just because they are running out of room in there! Carter must've been pissed off by all the poking, because we could not sit still last night.

On the way home we managed to get a flat tire, but at least it happened a few minutes from our house, so we were able to get it home.

A Little Scare

Well, on Saturday, we had a little labor scare. Cole had to run a few errands with his Dad, so Grace and I tagged along. About 45 minutes into our travels I started having cramps. I get cramps usually a few times a week, but if I have a large drink and rest they usually go away within 15-20 minutes. Well, they started Saturday like they usually do, kind of dull, achy, period like cramps, nothing timeable or measurable. I thought it was kind of weird, because I knew I had drank a lot that morning, but thought maybe it just wasn't enough, or maybe the bumpy roads were irritating my uterus. After 20 minutes or so, the cramps started to get worse. The cramps were suddenly coming every 2 minutes and lasting for a minute each time, I was having to breathe through them and couldn't talk.

Talk about scary! I just kept thinking "Oh my god, this is it, we're going to have these babies, and so early!" I tried not to freak out and had Cole stop so I could get a drink and go to the bathroom. I thought maybe I just had to pee and that's why I was having contractions. Turns out my bladder was just to full. After I went to the bathroom, the contractions stopped almost immediately. Thank god! I was exhausted afterwards, but I was just happy the contractions stopped and the babies were still in my belly! I guess I just need to stop to pee more often!

28 Weeks

The view at 28 weeks
How Far Along? 28 weeks 2days

Maternity Clothes? Yes, in desperate need of new ones!

Weight Gain? Still up about 20 pounds, I have a Dr's appointment Wednesday, so i'll find out how much more I've gained.

Stretch Marks? Yes, nothing overly crazy I think most of them are from Grace.

Sleep? The restless legs are killing me! I went 3 straight nights with no sleep and thankfully last night I was able to get a good 4 hours without waking up.

Best Moment of the Week? Nothing in particular, the past week the babies have been moving like crazy, although they seem to be slowing down now. I guess they're running out of room. Grace also came over to my belly, lifted my shirt, kissed my belly, then shouted "Hi, it's Gracie!" the other day, it melted my heart! Grace already loves her brother and sister so much!
Grace kissing the babies

Genders? A boy and a girl...Coleman Carter and Emily Katherine

Belly Button In or Out? In but slowly coming out. I'm curious if it will end up coming out, it never did with Grace, so we'll see. Now that i'm starting to see the inside of my belly button, I really hope it doesn't pop, because it is ugly!

Cravings? Nothing crazy lately.

What I Miss? Bending over. I'm now at the point where I can't bend over all the way.

What I Love? Feeling the babies move! Watching Grace interact with the babies!

What I Am Looking Forward to This Week? The Dr's appointment! Only 8-10 weeks until we meet the twins!
Milestones? None this week, but babies born at 28 weeks have a 90% survival rate, not great but getting better every day the continue to bake!

Feeling the Babies Move? Yes

Other Thoughts? I'm just so happy and thankful to have made it this far.

Names

Grace has been doing a good job with names lately. Everytime we tell her Andy isn't going to be somewhere she says it's because he's at "school.' We told her that Andy won't be at her b-day party because he'll be at school, so now she thinks he's always there.

Hockey

Well, Cole has started up with hockey again. This week he had 4 session in 2 days, yikes! But we appreciate him working so hard for us. Grace can now say hockey pretty well!

Dora

Grace has never been into the t.v. or movies, but I recently found out that Dora has a twin brother and sister. I searched for an episode that had the twins in it recorded it for Grace. Well, now she loves Dora!
The only problem is that Grace hates the map on Dora. She yells "No. No. Dora!' whenever the map appears. I try to reassure her that Dora will be back in a minute. Why she hates the map so much is beyond me!

Grace only likes the episodes that the babies are in, which unfortunately I've only found 2 that feature these guys:
So Grace forces me to watch the same 2 episoides of Dora over and over again. Day after day...oh my!
Well searching for images for this post I found out the sell a Dora doll that comes with the babies, it's called Big Sister Dora

I may just have to try to track down this doll for our Dora baby obsessed girl!

27 Weeks

How Far Along? 27 Weeks...yay for 3rd trimester!

Maternity Clothes? Yes, in desperate need of new ones!

Weight Gain? Still up about 20 pounds
Stretch Marks? Yes
Sleep? The restless legs are killing me! I can't sleep because I can't stop moving my legs! I talked to a few ladies who said that taking calcium before bed helped them. I will certainly be picking up some calcium this weekend!

Best Moment of the Week? My OB said that if I didn't hear from her by Wednesday then I could assume I passed my glucose test, well as of today I haven't received a phone call, so I'm assuming I passed! I'm so happy! My OB was pretty convinvced I'd fail, just because of the whole 2 babies and overweight thing, but thankful we're all good! I'm also pretty excited to be in the 3rd trimester!  We're getting closer and closer to the end!

Genders? A boy and a girl...Coleman Carter and Emily Katherine

Belly Button In or Out? In but slowly coming out. I'm curious if it will end up coming out, it never did with Grace, so we'll see.

Cravings? Nothing crazy lately.

What I Miss? Nothing right now. I'm just enjoying being pregnant with these babies.

What I Love? Feeling the babies move! They move like crazy these days. Grace and Cole talk to them most nights and it makes the babies go nuts!

What I Am Looking Forward to This Week? Being in the 3rd trimester! Only 10-11 more weeks until we meet the twins!

Milestones? 3rd trimester!

Feeling the Babies Move? Yes

Other Thoughts? I'm just so happy and thankful to have made it this far. I've been really bad about taking pictures lately. My camera has been acting up and not holding a charge, so taking pictures has been very difficult!

A-Choo

So today while snuggling with Grace, which was her idea...she now says "snuggle" and pats the spot next to her...who could resist that? Anyways I was snuggling and sneezed, out of no where she says "bess you!" I had no idea she knew to say 'Bless You' or that she could say it. It was so cute, so also replied with a "Thank You" after, she says "thank you" for everything now, whenever she hands you something she says "thank you', because we always say "thank you" when we receive what she is giving to us. God I love her!

In other news Grace had her last gymnastics class for the summer. Her fall classes start up Sept.1st and then dance starts the week after that. Grace was such a champ at class today, she's a pro on the bar and loves it! She was swinging and bringing her feet up to the bar today all on her own! Grace can now even say gymnastics, although it comes out like "nastics"

In pregnancy news, I went shopping today to find a dress to wear to a few of the wedding I have coming up. I was not looking forward to trying to find a dress to fit my belly as well as my plus size frame. I was able to find a cute dress on clearance at Dress Barn today and it was a few size smaller then what I had been. I guess even though I'm gaining weight and my belly is growing,  other areas are shrinking..yeah!

A Few Pictures

A picture of the ultrasound from last week. Emma & Carter's heads smushed together.
Grace trying to share her binkie with Lily

I was able to check a few things off our to do list. I finally was able to track down a going home outfit for the twins. After looking at Target, Babies R Us, and TJ Maxx, I finally found what I was looking for at Walmart. I really wanted the babies to have matching outfits, just in different colors, I had no idea how hard that would be to find!
I got Carter the yellow onesie with a blue owl on it. I got blue pants and socks to match.
We got Emma the same onesie, but in pink with a yellow owl, with a matching bow and pink socks.

I also finally raised the crib and put Emma's bedding in it.

Carter's bedding is the same thing except with green instead of purple. We only have one crib right now which is okay, since I plan on them sharing a crib for a few weeks.
You can see Carter's bedding print on the comforter on the back of the rocker here:

I was also able to get some things done for Grace's birthday party. I made her hat, her tutu, her birthday sign, her bow, her shirt, and her matching bloomers. I managed to remember to take a picture of the hat and tutu.

And I am spent now, I did all this in the past few days, which has left me feeling pretty tired. I also had my glucose test this morning. I should hear back by Wednesday about whether or not I passed.
